In 2004 I embarked on a series of sculptures as a direct response to the major fears, frustrations and struggles faced by humanity in contemporary times.

My plan for this project is to create nine drowning figures on a scale of up to twenty feet in height made in steel. All the figures struggling to stay above an imaginary waterline.

The drowning souls aim to reflect reactions to both global and personal concerns.

This sculpture is now almost complete and while each sculpture can stand alone the intention is that the nine figures are united in striving for survival on different levels.
